There is a per-transaction fee for all sales by Marketplace Vendors, payable to AllGunStuff Marketplace, which is 1.5% of the transaction amount.

The Core Lifecycle of a Marketplace Transaction

A typical transaction flow involves four core structural phases:

[ Buyer Checkout ] ──> [ Escrow / Holding Account ] ──> [ Automated Split ] ──> [ Seller Payout ]
└──> [ Platform Commission ]

  1. Seller Onboarding & KYC: Before a transaction can ever take place, sellers must be verified. The platform utilizes its payment processor to validate identities and banking details to combat fraud and money laundering.
  2. Buyer Checkout & Pay-In: The buyer adds multiple items from various sellers into a single unified shopping cart. At checkout, the buyer executes a single payment authorization via one of the mechanisms provided in the PayFast Gateway.
  3. Escrow and Fund Capture: Instead of routing money straight to the sellers, a Marketplace Payment Service Provider (PSP) securely routes the funds into a centralized holding account. The funds are held temporarily in escrow to ensure order fulfillment and manage buyer-satisfaction risk.
  4. Split Settlement & Pay-Out: Once delivery terms are met or a specific holding window expires, the seller requests a payout from AllGunStuff Marketplace. The platform’s commission or flat fee is deducted, and the remaining net balance deposited directly to the corresponding sellers’ bank account.

This fee is in addition to the Payfast Payment Gateway fees, which are currently [ October 2026 ] R2 plus 3% of the transaction value.

The Marketplace Vendor will receive, per item sold : the purchase price, less Payfast commission, less Marketplace commission.

AllGunStuff has no control over the fees charged by Payfast. For the latest Payfast commissions, refer to Current Payfast Fees.
